Who murdered the chick?

Few days ago, Very early in the morning and just after my
usual 'waking up' formalities. I stepped outside of the house
and the first thing that struck me was that a chick (baby
chicken) drowned inside a small bowl of water that was kept
outside. I was sad!
Not because the chicken was mine or a
dead 'chick' being a big deal nor that I was the person that
kept the bowl, but because of the way it died. I had a feeling
that the bowl of water killed the chick untill I saw fellow
'chicks' pass by the same bowl of water again without looking
that way!
Now, this is the lesson I learnt. The bowl of water did not kill
the chick! Lack of self control did! The bowl was large, far
larger than the chick. The water was massive too, but the
chick ignored all these signs and jumped in just because of
thirst. The truth is that we all are like that same chick. We all
get thirsty for 'water.' We all get thirsty for the good things of
life! We hunger and thirst for success. Sometimes, they seem
out of our reach, massive and far too above us yet we force
ourselves to get it by all means, thus many keep getting
drowned!
'Delilah's' of our time have drowned many who culdn't control
their thirst! 'Portiphars wives' of our time have destroyed a
great many also because of lack of self control! 'I want to
belong' mentality has uselessed multitudes! Yet, as strange
as it might sound, believe me, bowls of 'water' have been kept
in every aspect of this life waiting for who will jump in. The
bowls most often come in coated forms. Filled with good
things that can drown.
Remember, if you give the devil attention, no matter how little,
he'll end up giving you direction which can only lead to
destruction. Men and Brethren, nothing good can come from
the devil. Don't forget, if satan gives u a hat, he'll collect ur
head; if he gives u a wristwatch, he'll collect ur hand; if he
gives u a shoe, he'll collect ur leg.
Beware! Be warned! Don't fall a victim! This is 2015! The fact
is that It might be your year! Or It might not be your year! But,
be patient. What is yours' is yours'. Overlook things that you
cannot afford at the moment. Your time, our time, my time
will still come. No man rises suddenly, not even the Sun.
God will enlarge our coast this year.
